• project scale — budget, size, capacity — and your role in it
• software and codes named in the posting (CAD, FEA, PLC platforms, local building codes)

Illustrative example. Numbers like these should always come from your own real results — useful metrics for this field include project value, yield, downtime, cost savings, efficiency, safety record.

How to tailor your Civil Engineer CV in three steps

1. Mark the must-haves. Read the posting and highlight the tools, skills, and responsibilities it repeats or labels “required”.
2. Match them to your real experience. For each must-have, find the place in your history where you actually did it, and move that evidence to the top — using the posting’s wording where it is honest.
3. Cut what doesn’t help. Shorten or remove bullets that don’t support this particular job. Two strong, relevant lines beat six generic ones.

That’s exactly what renewed.cv automates: it extracts the requirements, rewrites your real experience around them, fact-checks the result against your original, and shows you a before/after match score.

Common Civil Engineer resume mistakes

• Omitting project value, size, or performance numbers
• Not stating software versions and standards used
• Listing responsibilities without engineering outcomes (savings, yield, uptime)

Recommended structure: Summary → Licenses/certifications → Experience → Technical skills & software → Education.
