Systems Administrator resume for Runway: tailor it to the job

Applying for a Systems Administrator role at Runway? Like most AI labs and AI-native companies employers, Runway receives far more applications than it can read closely, so the resume that gets shortlisted is the one that makes the match to the posting obvious in seconds. Here’s how to tailor yours.

What AI labs and AI-native companies employers like Runway tend to screen for

• Evidence that you shipped models or LLM products, not only experiments
• Evaluation rigor: metrics, benchmarks, error analysis, cost and latency trade-offs
• Range from research to production, and speed of iteration

AI employers read many resumes full of buzzwords. State what you built, with which models and tools, and the measured result: accuracy, latency, cost, or adoption. Always read the specific Runway posting: the team, level, and location change what matters, and the posting’s own wording is the best guide to what to mirror.

Keywords hiring teams look for in a Systems Administrator resume

Applicant tracking systems and recruiters search for specific terms. For Systems Administrator roles these come up most often — include them only where they are true for you:

The first group comes from typical Systems Administrator postings; the last few are common in AI labs and AI-native companies. Use a term only if it honestly describes your experience.

Before and after: how a Systems Administrator-style bullet improves

Illustrative example. Numbers like these should always come from your own real results — useful metrics for this field include latency, uptime, throughput, users served, deployment frequency, cost saved. For AI labs and AI-native companies roles, results tied to LLMs and RAG tend to resonate.

How to tailor your Systems Administrator resume in three steps

1. Mark the must-haves. Read the posting and highlight the tools, skills, and responsibilities it repeats or labels “required”.
2. Match them to your real experience. For each must-have, find the place in your history where you actually did it, and move that evidence to the top — using the posting’s wording where it is honest.
3. Cut what doesn’t help. Shorten or remove bullets that don’t support this particular job. Two strong, relevant lines beat six generic ones.

That’s exactly what renewed.cv automates: it extracts the requirements, rewrites your real experience around them, fact-checks the result against your original, and shows you a before/after match score.

Common Systems Administrator resume mistakes

• Listing every technology you have ever touched instead of the ones the posting asks for
• Describing duties ("worked on backend") instead of outcomes ("cut p95 latency from 800 ms to 220 ms")
• Burying the most relevant project under older, unrelated jobs

Recommended structure: Summary → Skills (matching the posting) → Experience → Projects → Education.
